Hello!!
I FINALLY made it to a computer! Sorry for the bad communication. I have been very busy. Presently, I am in Morogoro. Everyday we have kiswahili class, which is good, but it is all day everyday, which gets boring fast. I still suck at swahili, but what can you do? I respect any language whose word for “big butt” is ‘wowowo’ hahaha. My host family is super nice. They speak pretty good english also, which maybe isn’t the best for my Swahili, but is good for me in general. They have electricity, a western toilet, and occasionally running water. I am beginning to master the art of the bucket bath.
Thank you so much Steph and KrisAnn for your pursuit of my email verification code! Unfortunately, they reset the verification code every time you try and sign in, so it didn’t work. I just tried to reset my password, but in order to do this you have to answer all of these questions and they will investigate the account. The questions included: when did you open the account? emails you use frequently?, etc…so, hopefully I got enough right (I had no idea half of the answers, who the heck remembers when the anniversary of their email account is?!)! Oh man! At least everyone should know gmail is serious about account security.
Don’t worry ya’ll, when I said I was from Wyoming, they asked about Miami…as always.
Got phone voucher today. I guess it is way cheaper for you to call me than for me to call you (you can do this via gmail talk), so I guess volunteers will “beep” people (i.e. I call you, you don’t answer and call me back). I will investigate further and so if you see a really weird number on your caller id, don’t answer and call me back yo.
Love you all, will hopefully get more time on the computer in the next week or so!
Haha that all sounds wonderful Sarah. I’m glad you like your host family!! And I’m sure you’ll be great at swahili once you’re submerged in it for awhile. I’m sorry that you’re having so much trouble with your email account. Hopefully it all works out though! I can’t wait to talk to you Sarah! I’m excited to hear all of the details. I love you! Have fun!
Wowowo! Call me! Love you lots.
You’re text message made me smile this morning…can we text you back at that number? I miss you, but I’m so excited for you! Good luck with the language. I’m sure you’ll do great once you get a little more practice in. Can’t wait to hear more about your African adventure…remember I’m living vicariously through you 😉 I love you!
